RON STARBUCK is a poet, playwright, essayist, and the Publisher, CEO, and Executive Editor of Saint Julian Press. His work explores the contemplative tradition, spiritual and moral imagination, interfaith encounter, civic responsibility, and the ways memory, place, and faith shape our common life. He is the author of six collections of poetry: Wheels Turning Inward, When Angels Are Born, There Is Something About Being an Episcopalian, A Pilgrimage of Churches, At the Still Point: In Conversation with Saint Julian, and You Are Accepted: In Conversation with Paul Tillich. He is also the author of the children's book A White Colt's Tale. His poetry draws upon Christian mysticism, theology, liturgy, and a longstanding engagement with Buddhist-Christian and interfaith dialogue. A Pilgrimage of Churches brings these concerns together through photographs and poems exploring the sacred spaces, landscapes, communities, and memories of America. Starbuck has also carried his poetic voice into verse drama. His full-length plays, The Lamp: In Conversation with St. Luke and The Nearness of Light, explore conscience, human dignity, moral responsibility, civic life, and the possibilities of reconciliation and grace.
