Fatima Barkatulla is an ’Alimah (Islamic scholar) and award-winning teacher, who is passionate about sharing the message of Islam with others. Born in London, she grew up loving calligraphy and wanting to be an astronaut. As a teenager, she studied Arabic and Islamic studies in Egypt and went on to graduate with distinction from Islamic seminaries in the United Kingdom. Fatima has been a key contributor to the discourse surrounding Muslim women in the West, contributing to documentaries and live shows for the BBC and other mainstream and Islamic channels, including her work as a presenter of the popular IlmFeed podcast. She lives in leafy London with her husband, who is her best friend, and four children.
