Zusammenfassung

1429: A city under siege. A future in the balance.

Eighteen-year-old Dan Renfrew and his partner, Sam Cahill, are no strangers to the dangers of time travel. But when another glitch threatens to unravel history, their latest mission sends them into one of the most turbulent chapters of medieval France: the Siege of Orléans in 1429, just before Joan of Arc's legendary victory.

In a world gripped by religious intolerance, superstition, and fear, even the smallest mistake can have deadly consequences. With soldiers patrolling the streets and accusations of heresy threatening anyone who attracts suspicion, Dan and Sam must navigate a city on the brink of catastrophe. Capture could mean imprisonment, torture, or execution?and their enemies are determined to make sure history unfolds differently.

As the siege intensifies and danger closes in, the young time jumpers must outwit religious fanatics, evade hostile soldiers, and uncover the threat to the historical timeline before it's too late. Every choice carries the risk of changing events that have already shaped the world they know.

To survive, Dan and Sam will need every ounce of courage and ingenuity they possess. Because in medieval Orléans, one wrong move could cost them their lives?and rewrite the future forever.

Andrew Varga is the author of The Jump in Time series of historical adventure novels, including The Last Saxon King, The Celtic Deception, The Mongol Ascension, The Spartan Sacrifice, and Ordeal at Orleans. His fiction draws upon a lifelong fascination with the people, cultures, and defining events of the past, weaving historical detail into compelling narratives of adventure and discovery.

Varga's passion for history began when his mother revealed their family's Viking ancestry. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto, specializing in history and majoring in English. His continuing study of European history has taken him to castles, museums, battlefields, and other historic sites throughout Europe. An avid collector of medieval arms and armor, Varga brings both scholarly curiosity and a personal appreciation of material history to his writing.

Inspired by his children's enthusiasm for historical fiction and fantasy, Varga began creating stories that bring the distant past to life for contemporary readers. He lives in the greater Toronto area, where he continues to pursue his interests in history, literature, and music.
