KATIE NORTON is a kindergarten teacher in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and before that was a teacher at the two-room school house on Long Island, Maine, for many years. She lives year round on the island, and is a busy mother of three and wife to a full-time lobsterman, and she acts as codirector of the Long Island Community Library. Katie is a poet, essayist, and novelist, and her work has been published in Rust & Moth, Empty House Press, Portland Press Herald, and The Working Waterfront. Katie loves playing her fiddle, sitting on the beach with her family and friends, and walking her itchy dog, Rudder, around the island. This is her debut book.
