Betty Turnbull, Baroness of Bedrule, believes every child deserves a strong sense of identity, belonging, and self-worth. Through engaging stories rooted in real history, she introduces young readers to the people and events that shaped our world while helping them discover the value of family, heritage, courage, and faith.A graduate of Rockford College in Illinois with a degree in education, Betty and her husband, Wally, spent 30 years serving as missionaries in the mountains of Haiti (1972-2002). There she pioneered Haiti's first rural preschool program, creating a model that has since grown into hundreds of preschools across the country, transforming early childhood education for generations of children.Today, Betty continues to inspire young readers through her Papa and Billy series, where modern-day adventures are woven together with true historical events to make history meaningful and memorable. She is the author of Abigail and the Royal Thread, The Man Who Saved the King, Robbie the Royal Messenger, Isobel's New World, Am I Scottish, The Highland Games Adventure, and the award-winning A Sergeant in the House.Betty and her husband live in Durham, NC.
