Jeff Clements is the founder and CEO of American Promise, a national cross-partisan organization working to pass a constitutional amendment addressing money in politics. A former partner at one of Boston's largest law firms and former assistant attorney general in the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, Clements filed a Supreme Court brief in the landmark Citizens United v. FEC case and then helped Montana defend its anti-corruption laws before the Court. He is the author of Corporations Are Not People (Berrett-Koehler, 2012/2014), and his work has appeared in The Washington Post, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Harvard Law & Policy Review, Newsweek, and many other outlets.
