Malcolm Ashworth is a film historian and writer specializing in the censorship battles of British horror cinema. Drawing on years spent tracking down obscure, banned, and disputed titles from the UK's "video nasty" era, Ashworth combines archival research with a genuine affection for the disreputable end of genre filmmaking. Video Nasty Files is his ongoing project to document, film by film, the notorious 1980s Director of Public Prosecutions list ? the tapes that were seized, the trials that followed, and the strange afterlives these films have led since. He lives in the United Kingdom.
