Peter Hertzmann, who died in December, 2023, was a man of many parts. As a scientist he was part of the team that worked on the lighting for the Space Shuttle in 1975-76. and was a cofounder of Laserscope, a medical laser company and held many patents in that field.He was also a food writer and educator, blogger and book collector, particularly of English-language Chinese cookbooks, That particular collection, one of the largest in the world, is now part of the Pond-Hertzmann Collection at the University of California at Davis.
