Tales and traditions from the Indus valley, taken down in the Punjab and the frontier districts by two British officials who heard them from the tellers. Much of this material was not collected again. This edition is bound with a gallery of 55 plates of painting, among them works by Henry Fuseli, Benjamin West and Luca Giordano, dating from 1637 to 1822.
